We are looking for a coordinator of the Synthetic Genomics Center 'SynGen', which was founded by KIT together with the universities in Heidelberg and Mainz. You are the central point of contact for the activities based at KIT and coordinate the entire center together with the coordinator in Heidelberg and the directors of the center at the three locations Karlsruhe, Heidelberg and Mainz. Her tasks include content-related, scientific and administrative aspects.

Job description
- You coordinate strategic projects, take responsibility for topics and research content independently;
- You prepare presentations, texts, reports and written correspondence in German and English;
- You are involved in the organization of selected projects in collaboration with the scientists involved;
- You prepare and follow up on appointments and meetings between the Center and the Foundation;
- You support the public outreach of the center (social media, web page, press releases, and presentations);
- You support the preparation of decisions and the implementation controlling of projects;
- You are responsible for the budget and budget controlling within KIT;
- You will be available as a contact person for content-related questions and promote exchange and interaction.

Personal qualification
- You have a successfully completed university degree (Master), ideally with a PhD, in natural science or computer science and an active interest in the synthetic biology and genomics.
- You are a person working in a highly structured and systematic way with strong strategic thinking. In addition you have experience in developing and communicating complex content and organizational contexts.
- You have a precise and concise way of expressing yourself both verbally and in writing and an excellent command of English and German.
- Your are an experienced user of commonly used computer programs.
- You have strong communication skills, a confident and engaging manner, can work independently and in a team.
- You have a high degree of organizational skills and excellent social competence.

Salary category 13 TV-L, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
