Engineer specializing in energy engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering or physics (f/m/d)
As the world faces increasing energy demands and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, fusion energy stands out as a beacon of hope. Countries worldwide are investing heavily in fusion reactor research, recognizing its potential to provide a sustainable and virtually limitless energy source. Safety analysis plays a crucial role in the development of fusion reactors. National safety codes need to be developed in Germany. The thermal-hydraulic system code ATHLET and the containment code COCOSYS, both have been developed by the Society for Plant and Reactor Safety (GRS) GmbH, have been well qualified in safety analysis of nuclear power plants. They need to be extended for fusion specified requirements and applications, e.g., based on EU DEMO (DEMOnstration power plant).
